Step 1 – Prepare the Oven and Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and line a loaf pan or cake pan with parchment paper to make removing the cake easier.
Step 2 – Prepare the Cake Batter
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until the batter is smooth.
Step 3 – Make the Cream Cheese Filling
Beat softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, then mix until combined.
The filling should be soft and easy to spread.
Step 4 – Assemble the Cake
Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan.
Add spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture and strawberry jam over the batter.
Add the remaining cake batter on top.
Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the layers together, creating a beautiful strawberry cream cheese pattern.
Step 5 – Bake
Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
The top should be golden and the center should be fully set.
Step 6 – Cool and Serve
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes.
Remove it carefully and let it cool completely before slicing.
Serve plain or with fresh strawberries on top.
