  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder or onion powder, optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter, for cooking

Almond Flour Version

  • 1 can (14.75 oz) canned salmon, drained
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ¼ cup fine almond flour
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Dill, paprika, or lemon zest, optional
  • Oil or butter, for cooking

How to Make Salmon Patties

1. Drain the Salmon

Drain the canned salmon very well and press out as much excess liquid as possible.

Transfer it to a mixing bowl and flake it with a fork. Remove any bones or skin if you prefer.

2. Mix the Ingredients

For the Parmesan version, add the beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese to the salmon.

For the almond flour version, add the beaten egg and almond flour.

Add your preferred seasonings and mix gently until everything is well combined.

The mixture should hold together when pressed.

3. Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 portions and shape each one into a compact patty about ½-inch thick.

If the mixture feels too soft, refrigerate the patties for 15–20 minutes before cooking.

4. Cook Until Golden

Heat the oil or butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Carefully place the patties in the pan without overcrowding.

Cook for about 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and firm.

Flip gently with a spatula to keep the patties intact.

5. Serve

Transfer the cooked salmon patties to a plate and serve while they're hot and crispy.

A squeeze of fresh lemon juice adds a bright finishing touch.
